Há 5 dias · George Lansbury (1859–1940), the great Labour politician and journalist, served on Poplar Borough Council from its inception in 1900 until his death, twice being Mayor, and he was also a member of the LCC from 1912.

The main building is a two-storey, L-plan block in yellow London stock brick, with a low-pitched slate roof (Plate 133b, 133c; fig. 82).
