  1. Diarmuid Fionntain O'Scannlain (/ ˈ d ɪər m ɪ d oʊ ˈ s k æ n l ən / DEER-mid oh-SKAN-lən; born March 28, 1937) is a senior United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. His chambers are located in Portland, Oregon.

  2. He hears appeals in San Francisco (court headquarters), as well as in Los Angeles (Pasadena), Portland, Seattle, Anchorage and Honolulu. The late Chief Justice Rehnquist appointed Judge O'Scannlain to the Federal Judicial Center's Advisory Committee on Appellate Judge Education.
