Zilog was later producing a low-power Z80 suitable for the growing laptop computer market of the early 1980s.

16 de mai. de 2024 · The 6809 is clearly the legendary Motorola 68000's immediate 8-bit ancestor, so it had a similarly elegant architecture with a highly orthogonal instruction set, powerful indirect addressing modes, excellent interrupt architecture as well as separate user and system stacks.

The X68000 to SUPER models had a Hitachi HD68HC000 CPU at 10 MHz. The XVI to Compact models had a Motorola 68000 at 16 MHz. The X68030 has a Motorola MC68EC030 CPU at 25 MHz. They had 1-4MB of RAM and 1MB of VRAM.
