  5. 7 de jun. de 2024 · In the Assheton Chapel are preserved a crested helmet, sword, banner, and three spurs, popularly associated with Sir Richard Assheton, the soldier of Flodden. The crest (boar's head) and banner were probably carried at the funeral of Sir Ralph Assheton in 1765, and afterwards deposited here.

In 1609–15 inquiry was made on behalf of the Crown as to the right to view of frankpledge, &c., and a royal confirmation was in 1615 given by James I. A settlement of the manor was then made by Richard Assheton and Margaret his wife.
