Henry Beauchamp (22 March 1425 – 11 June 1446), 14th Earl and 1st Duke of Warwick, was an English nobleman.
Over its 950 years of history it has been owned by 36 different individuals, plus four periods as crown property under seven different monarchs. Overview. The first creation came in 1088, and the title was held by the Beaumont and later by the Beauchamp families. The 14th earl was created Duke of Warwick in 1445, a title which became extinct on his early death the following year.
He did however receive many awards, notably being created Duke of Warwick in 1444 with precedence second only to the Duke of Norfolk. Sir Henry (or Harry) Beachamp, Duke of Warwick, died aged 21 at Hanley Castle on June 11 1446 and was buried at Tewkesbury Abbey, Gloucestershire.
HENRY DE BEAUCHAMP, Duke of Warwick (1425-1445), was born at Hanley Castle 21 March 1425, and succeeded his father, Richard, Earl of Warwick, in 1439.
In 1444 King Henry made Henry Beauchamp the premier Earl of England and on 14th April the following year gave him the title Duke of Warwick, the new title being second only in rank to the Duke of Norfolk, the Earl Marshall of England.
