30 de out. de 2018 · My wife and I are very close to an early retirement (61 & 60 years old) we now have just under 2mm total in Wellesley admiral and Wellington admiral 50/50 in our IRA`S….both domestic no global. It feels right and things went well during the dip this past March.

So the likelihood of a large cap fund beating the S&P 500 by any margin whatsoever for 45 years is .00047 (.078^3), or roughly 1 in 2,128.
28 de nov. de 2023 · That said, back when all my investments were in tax advantaged accounts, I had a 50/50 mix of Wellington and Wellesley to get my desired 50/50 stock/bond AA. I figured that mix came close enough. I would NOT have thrown SP500 into the mix because I could have instead simply increased the Wellington allocation to get more stocks.

I chose Wellington because it's a very stable fund, that has produced good results for several decades. However, I see where some people go 50/50 with Wellington and Wellesley in their accounts, is their an advantage to using both funds vs just the one?
