If you are already running RouterOS, upgrading to the latest version can be done by clicking on "Check For Updates" in QuickSet or System > Packages menu in WebFig or WinBox. We have multiple Mikrotik routers that we manage on the WAN interface - the port is open for us to connect to Winbox, and the firewall is configured for only our IP Address. We have been using WinBox 3.12 to complete this, as the newer version hang up on Downloading ...

If you experience version related issues, then please report them to support@mikrotik.com. Winbox is available here:
