As a visitor, the only thing you need to know is this: the first part of a postcode tells you the geographic area the location is in. N or NW= North London ; E= East London
25 de mar. de 2021 · The East End is vast, with no specific boundaries, but is generally accepted to include the neighborhoods of Dalston, Hackney, Whitechapel, Bethnal Green, Stepney, Mile End and Bow. The groundbreaking Whitechapel Gallery , a favorite of art students, is a major sight in the area and has displayed modern and contemporary works since 1901.

8 de jul. de 2021 · The Flemish Layer: 16th Century Brickmaking. The first to arrive were the Flemish in the 1500’s. They used the naturally occurring clay in the area to make bricks for both the East End and other neighborhoods of London. Hence the rather literal “Brick Lane” street name. Tenter Ground was settled by Huguenot weavers.
