This heavily fortified manor house was constructed in the late 13 th century by Laurence of Ludlow, a wealthy wool merchant who wished to build a centre to his estate. The manor house is formed of a great hall and solar in one block, which is attached to two towers at the north and south end.

The present house is built on a double E-plan with a central 15th-century, east-west range; it was enlarged and remodelled in the late 16th and early 17th centuries, substantially restored in 1905 and again in the 20th and 21st centuries.

In the 16th and 19th century new additions were added to the Tudor house. Bramall Hall has 16th century wall paintings, Elizabethan plaster ceiling, Victorian kitchens and Servants’ Quarters.
26 de out. de 2022 · While it was love at first sight for the exterior of this 16th-century manor house in Langport, Somerset, the interiors were a labour of love for owner Sarah Southwell. One year on and the house has a new lease of life, with warm, colourful interiors designed for family life. The restoration project has been documented in Channel 4's Renovation Nation series.
