Autor de varios trabajos de una notoriedad importante para Italia , entre los que se encuentran la mezquita de Roma y la recuperación y restauración de la aldea pisana de Treja; estudió y colaboró también en la búsqueda de la Historia Gráfica del campo y, fue crítico de arte.
Paolo Portoghesi (born 2 November 1931, Rome) is an Italian architect, theorist, historian and professor of architecture at the University La Sapienza in Rome. Portoghesi's activity took place in parallel on the sides of historical research and architectural design, aiming at the reintegration of collective memory in the tradition of modern architecture.
