Khartoum è una delle città più calde della Terra, con temperature medie annuali che si aggirano intorno ai 30° C. Anche gli inverni sono molto caldi. In nessun mese la temperatura media mensile scende al di sotto dei 30° C. Questa è una caratteristica climatica unica di Khartum che non trova riscontro in nessun'altra città del deserto, ( Riyadh , Baghdad e Phoenix ).

Khartoum (arabiska الخرطوم, al-Kharţūm) är huvudstad i Sudan liksom i delstaten Khartoum.
