The film was based, not in Houston but in Dallas, where the ‘Houston Bus Terminal’ is the old Dallas Railroad Terminal. The fictitious town of 'Bountiful' is Waxahachie, that favourite Texas location, south of Dallas. More scenes were filmed in Venus, some fifteen miles to the west (also featured in Bonne And Clyde ), and in Five Points.
