John Lounsbery wuchs als jüngstes von drei Geschwisterkindern in Colorado auf. Er besuchte die East Denver High School und wurde nach seinem Abschluss am Art Institute of Denver angenommen. 1932 zog er nach Los Angeles, wo er 1935 eine Anstellung bei The Walt Disney Company erhielt.

John Mitchell "John" Lounsbery (9 maart 1911 - 13 februari 1976) was een Amerikaanse tekenaar, werkzaam bij The Walt Disney Company. Hij werd geboren in Cincinnati , in de staat Ohio . Na een tijdje aan de tekenschool te hebben gezeten in Los Angeles , werd hij, op aanraden van een leerkracht, naar de studio van Walt Disney gestuurd, waar hij in 1935 werd aangenomen.
Lounsbery, John (1911-1976) Animator; one of Walt’s “Nine Old Men.” He started his career with Disney in 1935, as an animator on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.He worked on most of the classic features, as an animator or directing animator, including Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, and The Rescuers.
