The Journal of Literature and Science is a peer-reviewed academic journal, published twice annually in Summer and Winter. The JLS is dedicated to the publication of academic essays of six to nine thousand words on the subject of literature and science, broadly defined. Essays on the major forms of literary and artistic endeavour are welcome.

From 1959 onwards a cliché in the Western World has been to refer to the division between the two cultures (Snow, 1965): the culture of humanists and that of scientists and technicians, and the communication problems between them.
