Bradfield Senior College began in 1993 on the site previously occupied by North Sydney Girls' High School. The College was the first of its kind in New South Wales to have TAFE NSW Certificate programs integrated with the NSW Higher School Certificate in areas such as Design, Music, Dance, Entertainment, Hospitality, Information Technology, Digital Media, Retail and Tourism Services.

The hockey team's coach is a former international player and the College has close links to top-level Reading Hockey Club. Impressive facilities include a large sports hall, 2 all-weather hockey pitches, a swimming pool, a tennis academy with 3 indoor and 2 outdoor hard courts and 6 outdoor clay courts, a 9-hole golf course and a shooting range.
Bradfield’s academic curriculum is vast, offering GCSEs, IGCSEs, A-level courses and the IB Diploma Programme. Over one-third of grades at (I)GCSE are Grade 8/9, equivalent to to A/A*. At A-level, approaching 50% of grades achieve this grade. The College has now been an IB World School for 12 years.
