Avant son décès, le docteur Claude Vanderpooten, ancient gynécologue, donna librement la permission à Caroline de Costa d’utiliser son ouvrage (« Samuel Pozzi, chirurgien et ami des femmes », publié en 1992) ainsi que les notes accompagnantes, dans le but de restaurer son image dans la société et la chirurgie française.
