1 de jun. de 2014 · Mary Soames, the last surviving child of British World War II leader Winston Churchill, has died. She was 91. Her son Nicholas Soames said she died Saturday evening after a short illness.
Mary Soames, Baroness Soames, was an English author. The youngest of the five children of Winston Churchill and his wife, Clementine, she worked for public organisations including the Red Cross and the Women's Voluntary Service from 1939 to 1941, and joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1941.
Marigold was born 4 days after the 'First World War' ended. She had three older siblings. Marigold was just 2 years and 9 months old when she died of septicemia. She was buried in a quiet and simple grave in London. Churchill's youngest child Mary Churchill was born a year after Marigold's death.
