Harold Nicolson (21 novembre 1886 – 1 er mai 1968) est un diplomate, homme politique, biographe et écrivain britannique. Connu pour son philhellénisme et ses convictions hostiles à la Turquie , il a influencé la politique extérieure du Royaume-Uni en faveur de la Grèce durant l' entre-deux-guerres .

Er war 1913 bis 1945 mit der Schriftstellerin Victoria Sackville-West verheiratet. 1909 bis 1929 arbeitete er im auswärtigen Dienst, danach widmete er sich seinen publizistischen Interessen. Veröffentlichungen u. a.: "König George V." (Biogr., 1952), "Kleine Geschichte der Diplomatie" (1954).
Harold George Nicolson was born on November 21, 1886, in Tehran, Persia [Iran], the son of Arthur Nicolson, Baron Carnock, and Catherine (Rowean-Hamilton) Nicolson. He studied at both Wellington College, Berkshire, and Balliol College, Oxford, and then followed his father's example by entering the diplomatic service (1909).
