The current Swedish royal family is of the House of Bernadotte, the dynasty that has ruled the longest. In 1810, King Karl XIII was left without a successor, following the death of his adopted son Prince Karl August.
The Princess Royal, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this morning visited Vestre Gravlund Cemetery, 66 Sørkedalsveien, Oslo, Norway, and laid a wreath at the Memorial. Her Royal Highness, Patron, Anglo-Norwegian Resistance Commemoration Project, later visited the Linge Club and attended a Reception at Akershus Fortress, Oslo.
