Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley (c. 1560) Mary's marriage to a leading Catholic resulted in Mary's half-brother, James Stuart, the Earl of Moray, to join with other Protestant lords in open rebellion. Mary and her forces and Moray and the rebellious lords roamed around Scotland without ever engaging in direct combat.
