They met in 1823, when the Duke engaged Landseer to paint a portrait of the Duchess. Georgy had been depressed after the recent death of her father (Jane had died in 1812).

  3. Caroline (1723-1774)[edit] Georgiana Caroline Lennox was born on 27 March 1723. In 1744, at the age of 21, she eloped with Henry Fox, a Whig politician. He was the brother of Stephen, first Earl of Ilchester, and son of politician Sir Stephen Fox. Though she was eventually reconciled with her parents, she was cut out of her father's will in 1752.

  4. Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire, died on 30 March 1806, at 3:30, at the age of 48. She was surrounded by her husband, the 5th Duke of Devonshire; her mother, Countess Spencer; her sister, the Countess of Bessborough; her eldest daughter, Lady Morpeth (who was eight months pregnant); and Lady Elizabeth Foster.

  5. Sophia Georgiana Lennox was born 21 July 1809 to Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond (1764-1819) and Charlotte Gordon (1768-1842) and died 17 January 1902 of unspecified causes. She married Thomas Cecil (1797-1873) 7 August 1838 .
