Clare Chambers is Professor of Political Philosophy and a Fellow of Jesus College. She came to Jesus College and to the Faculty of Philosophy in the University of Cambridge in 2006. Previously she held academic positions at the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics, and has twice been a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley.
The College sits in peaceful surroundings to the west of Cambridge, just off Herschel Road, consisting of two sites, the main college buildings and West Court. Clare is located in the centre of Cambridge and is the second oldest Cambridge College. Clare is known for its beautiful buildings, its Chapel Choir, and for its gardens overlooking the River Cam. Clare has approximately 300 postgraduates, making it small enough to be friendly but big enough to be interesting and varied, with students from all over the world.
Clare provides additional support for all of its students. Studying at Cambridge is a very different experience from being at school or college and Clare makes sure that all of its students are given opportunities to receive further guidance.
