The thing with Cardan is that hes not your stereotypical overbearing and dominant love interest. Hes a lot more comfortable giving up the reigns and letting jude do her thing. It creates a dynamic that quite unique that you don't usually see. He still has angst and all the characteristics that most readers love but its done with a twist.
