Biography. Jerry Fielding (17 June 1922, Pittsburgh, Penn. – 17 February 1980, Toronto, Ont.) was an American jazz musician, arranger and film composer. After trying the trombone, Fielding took up the clarinet and joined the school band. He was offered a scholarship to the Carnegie Institute for Instrumentalists.
