14 de jul. de 2006 · Don Williams ist wie eine sanfte Brise in der lauten, großen Musikwelt. Damals wie heute ist und bleibt er etwas Besonderes, eben "der Riese mit der sanften Stimme". Übrigens sein Markenzeichen, den Hut, hat er damals von der 20th Century Fox für die Dreharbeiten zu dem Film "W.W. & The Dixie Dance Kings" (1975) bekommen.
Anfänge. Don Williams wurde 1939 als jüngster von drei Söhnen von Loveta Mae Lambert und James Andrew „Jim“ Williams geboren. Er wuchs in Portland auf und begann bereits als Kind Gitarre zu spielen. 1958 schloss er die Highschool ab. Mit Lofton Kline und Susan Taylor gründete er 1964 die Band Pozo-Seco Singers, die eine Mischung aus Folk und Popmusik spielte.
