18 de mar. de 2013 · LONDON (AP) — British actor Frank Thornton — best known as Captain Peacock in the long-running television comedy “Are You Being Served?” — has died at age 92, his agent said Monday. The actor is best remembered by British audiences for his comic role in the innuendo-laden hit sitcom, which ran from the 1970s to 1985.

As a youngster he enjoyed singing comic songs and entertaining his friends, and while working in a merchant’s office in the city during the day, he performed in amateur theatricals in the evening reciting humorous monologues and singing popular songs.
