Biografia. Nato in Ohio, visse in Illinois fino al 1948, anno in cui si trasferì a New York. Nel 1952 debuttò a Broadway, recitando in New Faces. Fu inoltre presenza fissa in diversi spettacoli per la televisione, come The Red Buttons Show, The Martha Raye Show, Tonight Starring Jack Paar e altri. Nel 1956 fu protagonista della serie Stanley.
Paul Lynde's witty, wisecracking one-liners and his novel line delivery made him one of Hollywood's funniest and best loved entertainers. 1965 He appeared on TV's The Dean Martin Show (1965), The Kraft Music Hall (1967), Donny and Marie (1975), and both the prime-time and daytime versions of the game show The Hollywood Squares (Daytime) (1965) where he occupied the famous center square.

The special aired once on October 29, 1976 and featured a "Who's Who" of TV and film stars, including Margaret Hamilton, Witchie Poo, Tim Conway, Billy Barty, Betty White and Donnie and Marie .
