Celebrated musician Chad Allan, who carved a place in Canadian rock music history for his part in the founding of iconic bands the Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, has died. He was 80.
About Chad Allan. Singer Allan Kowbel was born in Winnipeg in 1943. He was still a child when rock & roll overtook many Canadian radio stations where he lived. When he was in his teens, he picked a stage name, Chad Allan, and started a musical career that would last for decades and bring about the formation of the famed rock band, the Guess Who.
Chad Allan, es un músico canadiense, reconocido por ser el vocalista original de la banda de rock The Guess Who, antes de ser reemplazado por Burton Cummings. En 1971 formó la agrupación Brave Belt junto a su antiguo compañero en The Guess Who, Randy Bachman, proyecto con el que grabó dos álbumes de estudio.

The name was created by label Quality Records to promote their rendition of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates "Shakin All Over," which became a No. 1 hit in Canada in 1965.
