Turandot is one of Giacomo Puccinis most wellknown and beloved operas, and "The Curse of Turandot" follows the libreto as far as it is still recognizable, wich is quite remarkably. Thus in the original operaversion the first suitor was a prince from Persia and the slavegirl Liu dies while Princess Turandot and Calaf get married.
