About Established in 1901, The Chapin School is a K-12 independent day school for girls that is dedicated to the intellectual and personal growth of its students as it prepares them to thrive and lead in a global society.
Some performances, such as the Middle School Dance Club, are only for fellow students, while others, such as the play performed by Classes 6 and 7, are open to parents and teachers. Students who sing in the Middle School chorus perform during Chapin’s winter and spring concerts, and at the Interschool Choral Festival.
To apply for entrance into the Middle School, you will need to begin the process in the fall prior to the desired year of enrollment. Admission to these classes is dependent upon available space. Chapin’s Middle School teachers understand the developmental needs of their students and design classrooms and curriculum in ways that support and inspire them. This includes an interdisciplinary humanities program that focuses on developing reading, writing and study skills and a homeroom program that provides students with support and structure.

Students are cliquey, mean and materialistic. It is not a kind school, nor one that provides girls with a strong moral compass or sense of community.
