Erasure - The Innocents (1988) Part 1. The Innocents was a phenomenally successful Erasure album, and remains their biggest selling original album to date by far. Produced by Stephen Hague, who had worked with the likes of Pet Shop Boys, OMD and New Order, the album topped the charts from its release, only to regain the number one spot again eighteen months later.

29 de jul. de 2014 · As 80’s and synth pop gets, Erasure’s camp and upbeat take on the genre is somewhat enjoyable, but nothing to write home about. Very very 80s and dominated by the opening track. But quite enjoyable, sounds a lot like Alison Moyet's output at the time. Picked this up in a charity shop for a pound so well worth it.

The Innocents became the first in a string of #1 albums by Erasure in the UK, turning double platinum, with sales over 600,000. Thanks to heavy exposure on MTV, it also spawned two major Billboard Hot 100 hits, a Top 50 placing on the Billboard 200 and Platinum album certification in the U.S.
