The thesis film is the crowning achievement of a Fellow’s two-year tenure at the AFI Conservatory and showcases the mastery of filmmaking achieved by Fellows. Thesis production is a rigorous nine-month collaborative process that culminates in the production of a 20-minute film.
She then attended the AFI Conservatory as both a Screenwriting and Directing Fellow. Her screenplay “Still Life” was a finalist for the Sundance Lab. She is currently writing and directing VENICE BEACH CC, a television series, and SHOOTING STAR, a feature film about a Marine who comes home from Afghanistan and re-enters his life, changed.
Participants are required to sign the AFI Conservatory Code of Conduct and contribute positively to our community. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for filmmaking in general, strong dedication to the art and craft of directing in particular, and a demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate in the filmmaking environment.

I was accepted into the Cinematography program in fall 2016. I also was over the moon and so proud. There was a lot of turmoil going on with the conservatory at that time, #HollywoodSoWhite, #MeToo, and the changing of the guard with the dean, so there was quite a bit of uncertainty with how the curriculum and class environment was going to be.
