St. Rita of Cascia, Agostinian. The Church remembers Saint Rita on 22 May. She is known as patroness of lost causes. First a wife and exemplary mother, then an Augustinian nun, she asked Christ to share His Passion with her, and had the sign of a thorn on her forehead. Her remains are lodged in the Basilica of Cascia.

It is not common to receive the faith from two “giants” - but that’s exactly what happened with St. Paulinus, whose conversion is credited to the influence of Sts. Ambrose and Augustine. Known for his charitable works, Paulinus was elected Bishop of the Italian city of Nola. He died in the year 431.

Há 6 dias · Saint Vincent, Spanish deacon and martyr. St Vincent was a deacon, originally from Saragossa in Spain. He was an great preacher and a courageous man. Vincent was arrested during the persecutions under Diocletian. Despite terrible tortures, he never denied the Faith. He was martyred in Valencia in 304, and immediately venerated as a saint.
