Althorp was built back in 1508 and has been the Spencer ancestral home for many generations. Over the years the house has been altered and remodelled, the house as it is today is largely based on the work done by architect Henry Holland who helped to restore the house to its former glory after a period of neglect in the middle of the 18th century.

Tourists and visitors regularly take tours around the grounds, but during the pandemic, Althorp was forced to close to the public. But this month, the grounds have reopened - and they're perfect for getting out into the fresh air.
