Admissions Balliol is one of Oxford’s larger colleges, with a thriving community of about 370 undergraduates and a nearly equal number of graduates. We welcome applications from students from any Admissions | Balliol College
Balliol was in 1973 the first of the traditional all-male colleges to elect a woman as a Fellow and Tutor, and the College has admitted women as students since 1979: one of them, Masako Owada (Balliol 1988 – 90, resident in Holywell Manor 1988 – 9 ), was married to HIH The Crown Prince of Japan in June 1993.

29 de jul. de 2021 · The Bishop had Balliol whipped, and sentenced him to an act of charity as a penance. Balliol chose to buy a house in Oxford and provide funds for needy students. When Balliol died in 1269 his widow Devorguilla formally established Balliol as a college, providing an endowment, official statutes, and the seal of the college, which it still maintains.
