During their soujourn in Geneva, Shelley had given Byron the nickname of Albe; therefore Claire wanted to name the girl Alba, but Byron overruled her and she was baptised Clara Allegra Byron. When Allegra was four, Byron arranged for her to be educated at a Capuchin convent near Ravenna in Italy; but, a year after that, she died of a fever.
15 de ago. de 2022 · It was these circumstances which ensured the birth of Allegra Biron in January 1817. Allegra – initially named Alba – was the product of one of Byron’s exploits, this time with a woman named Claire Clairmont, the teenage stepsister of the writer Mary Shelley, the woman behind the likes of Frankenstein.
Allegra is not entitled to the style "The Hon." as is usually given to the daughter of barons, since she was born outside of his marriage. Born in Bath in 1817, Allegra lived with Byron for a few months in Venice; he refused to allow an Englishwoman caring for the girl to adopt her and objected to her being raised in the Shelleys' household.

12 de nov. de 2018 · Clara Allegra—a child whose extraordinary resemblance to (of all people) Annabella was immediately noticed both by Byron and his valet, Fletcher—died of malaria or typhus in an Italian convent in 1822. She was five years old. Byron, from afar, expressed an erratic but fatherly interest in his legitimate child.
Death, Burial and A Memorial. Allegra died on 20 April 1822, attended by three doctors and all of the nuns at the convent, of what some biographers have identified as typhus. Byron biographer Benita Eisler speculated that she died after suffering a recurrence of her malarial-type fevers, which she had also suffered from the previous autumn.
