29 de ago. de 2016 · The University of Utah’s mascot Swoop, a red-tailed hawk, turns 20 this year. All are invited to celebrate Sept. 1, 12-2 p.m. at the Campus Store, 270 S. 1500 East, and during half-time at the football game against Southern Utah University that evening at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Although the University of Utah nickname is still Utes, the school introduced a mascot in 1996, with permission from the Ute Tribal Council. "Swoop" represents a red-tailed hawk, a bird indigenous to the state of Utah.
