Alfonso Ferrero La Marmora. Alfonso Ferrero, ridder La Marmora (Turijn, 18 november 1804 - Florence, 5 januari 1878) was een Italiaans generaal en staatsman. Levensloop. In 1823 trad hij toe tot het leger van Sardinië en promoveerde in maart 1848 tot kapitein wanneer hij zich als majoor onderscheidde bij de Slag bij Peschiera.

Turin 17 November, 1804 - d. Florence 5 January, 1878. Alfonso La Marmora graduated from the prestigious Turin military academy in 1822 before going on a European study tour. In 1823 he was commissioned by the Sardinian king to direct the modernisation of the Sardinian artillery. On 18 June, 1836, he founded the elite Bersaglieri corps.
Alfonso Ferrero La Marmora (18. listopadu 1804 – 5. ledna 1878) byl italský generál a státník, jedna z hlavních postav italského risorgimenta. Byl mladším bratrem generála Alessandra La Marmory. Po studiu na vojenské škole nastoupil službu v armádě království Sardinie v roce 1823 v hodnosti poručíka dělostřelectva.
La Marmora (lä mär´mōrä), distinguished Italian noble family. Its best-known member was Alfonso Ferrero, marchese della Marmora, 1804–78, general and political leader. He fought for Sardinia against Austria in the wars of 1848–49 and 1859, completely reorganized the Sardinian army, and led (1855–56) the Sardinian expeditionary force in the Crimean War.
