22 de mai. de 2006 · Former Sen. and Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen, a courtly Texan who as the Democrats' vice presidential nominee in 1988 famously told rival Dan Quayle he was "no Jack Kennedy," died Tuesday.
Lloyd Bentsen. Lloyd Bentsen (February 11, 1921 — May 23, 2006) was a Senator from Texas from 1971 to 1993 and was the United States Secretary of the Treasury under the Clinton administration from 1993 to 1994. He was a congressman from Texas from 1948 to 1955. He was also chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance from 1987 to 1993.

Lloyd Millard Bentsen, Jr. ( 11. februar 1921 – 23. maj 2006) var en amerikansk senator fra Texas gennem fire perioder (1971-93) og det demokratiske partis vicepræsidentkandidat i 1988, da Michael Dukakis søgte at blive præsident. Han var også i Repræsentanternes Hus (1949-55).
