17 de set. de 2016 · An Awfully Big Adventure is een leuk tussendoortje. Alleen al de bizarre, ietwat gespannen sfeer die constant aanwezig is maakt de film de moeite waard. Inhoudelijk stelt het eerste uur niet erg veel voor, maar dit wordt ruimschoots gecompenseerd door de cast, de mooie settings, enkele memorabele scènes en de goed gevonden balans tussen komedie en drama.
The character Peter Pan says, “To die will be an awfully big adventure.”. However, only J. M. Barrie said, “To live would be an awfully big adventure.”. Peter never shared that sentiment. The more positive line comes from the end of the play, in which the narrator is more or less analyzing Peter’s way of thinking.

Místní obsah si radši vůbec nečtěte, protože (tradičně) prozrazuje hlavní zápletku druhé poloviny filmu, tudíž při jeho znalosti možná strávíte celou první hodinu uvažováním, kdy (jestli) dojde film jeho naplnění. Navíc ke komedii má pochmurné An Awfully Big Adventure asi stejně blízko jako filmy Afreda Hitchcocka.
