Costume drama was never Hitchcock's forte, as proven by his disappointing Jamaica Inn (1939), but Capricorn does have its moments.

Under Capricorn is certainly not a typical Hitchcock. It is one of only two period dramas the director made - the first being Jamaica Inn (1939). It is also the kind of film that Hitchcock was often dismissive about when he gave interviews - a film consisting of long static sequences in which people sit (or stand) talking to one another.

O título no Brasil mais uma vez foi deturpado, Under Capricorn significa abaixo do trópico de capricórnio (pois a história se passa na Austrália) e não tem nada a ver com o signo do zodíaco. Um filmaço, recomendo para quem quer ter um ótimo entretenimento.
