When Sir George Brooke was born in 1497, in Cooling, Kent, England, his father, Sir Thomas Brooke, was 32 and his mother, Lady Dorothy Heydon, was 32. He married Anne Braye in 1517, in Cobham, Kent, England. They were the parents of at least 10 sons and 4 daughters. He registered for military service in 1523.
