It's seemingly a song about a past romance with an older woman. The song has lyrical and thematic depth that is belied by Charlie's youth, and that depth is offset by melodic height in the form of Puth's stratospheric falsetto agility in the chorus. While his falsetto is excellent and on display throughout Voicenotes, he is not a one-trick pony.
