The St Marylebone CofE School is a non-selective, Church of England academy. It has about 1,170 girls aged between 11 and 18. In April 2014 the school was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Overview. The English Department at St Marylebone School aims to teach in a way that will develop a life-long love of the English language and its literature in all students. By exploring a rich and varied range of poetry, drama and novels, students will experience the deep, complex and challenging pleasure involved in studying literature.
St Marylebone leads a network of 13 schools across 10 London Boroughs developing teaching for creativity, focussing on school culture, values and shared language. The London Creativity Collaborative network includes schools across all phases, including special education and 6th Form, and will tackle social and economic disadvantage, where creativity is needed most.
The Houses are named after people who have made a significant contribution to society and who are also connected to the Marylebone area.
