When Lady Eleanor Beauchamp Duchess of Somerset was born on 10 September 1407, in Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom, her father, Richard Beauchamp 13th Earl of Warwick, was 25 and her mother, Elizabeth Berkeley Countess of Warwick, was 23. She married Edmund Beaufort 2nd Duke of Somerset in 1426, in Gloucestershire, England.
Eleanor will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Anderson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Beaufort National Cemetery.

Edmund Beaufort, second duke of Somerset (c.1406-1455) was a major supporter of Henry VI in the period before the outbreak of the Wars of the Roses, but he was killed at St. Albans in the first battle of the wars. Like so many of the major players in the Wars of the Roses Somerset was a descendent of Edward III.
