They are usually associated with a history of head trauma and frequently associated skull fracture.

  2. Patient Data. A large biconvex epidural hematoma in the left frontotemporal region causing mass effect, midline shift and sub-falcine herniation. There is a linear fracture in the temporal and frontal bone in addition to a right blow-out fracture of the orbit with fat herniation.

  3. 31 de mai. de 2024 · Spinal epidural hematomas are most commonly spontaneous venous bleeds, often in the setting of coagulopathy or over-anticoagulation. They are anatomically located in the space between the theca and the periosteum - known as the extradural neural axis compartment.

  4. A fairly defined extra-axial epidural bi-convex (lentiform shaped) collection is seen related to the right frontal region. It exhibits a predominantly high attenuation value suggesting a recent epidural hematoma. It measures about 7.3 cm long and about 30 mm in its maximum thickness.

  5. Spinal epidural hematomas (EDH) are rare, most commonly due to spontaneous venous bleeds, often in the setting of coagulopathy or over-anticoagulation. Other etiologies include trauma, spinal vascular malformations, spinal tumors, and iatrogenic.
