10 de mai. de 2024 · The church became the royal church in Tudor times when the court was based at Greenwich (see The Old Royal Naval College). It was mostly destroyed during a storm in 1710, and the present church was commissioned in 1711 and built in 1714.

15 de mai. de 2024 · When the buildings above described were appropriated for the purposes of a Naval College, this infirmary was assigned by the Government to that excellent institution, the Seamen's Hospital Society, whose hospital ship, the Dreadnought, moored off Greenwich, was for years so familiar to all passengers on the Thames.
