  2. Lady Georgiana Lennox, known to her close friends as Georgy, was the third daughter of Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond, and his wife, Lady Charlotte Gordon. As well as her relationship with Wellington, Georgy’s other claim to fame is that her mother, the Duchess of Richmond, held a celebrated ball in Brussels on the eve of Waterloo.

Known as the Duchess of Richmond’s Ball, it was to become one of the most famous parties in history. Napoleon had escaped from exile on Elba and was now restored to power in France.

  4. 14 de fev. de 2024 · Lady Georgiana Lennox (30 September 1795 – 15 December 1891), was a close friend of the Duke of Wellington. After she married William FitzGerald-de Ros, 22nd Baron de Ros, she resumed corresponding with Wellington until his death 27 years later. Lord Henry Adam Lennox (6 September 1797 – 1812), fell overboard from HMS Blake and drowned.

  5. Lady Georgiana Lennox was born to the 4th Duke and Duchess of Richmond on 30th September 1795. Her early years were spent on the Goodwood Estate, before moving to Dublin in 1807 when her father was made Lord Lieutenant of Ireland.

  6. Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond (9 September 1764 – 28 August 1819). Lady Georgiana Lennox (6 December 1765 – 20 January 1841), married Henry Bathurst, 3rd Earl Bathurst. Despite the Hanoverian side taken by his father, George made an arranged marriage for his own son Charles with the heiress of Clan Gordon, a notable Jacobite family.
