The Age of Louis XIV (Le Siècle de Louis XIV, also translated The Century of Louis XIV) is a historical work by the French historian, philosopher, and writer Voltaire, first published in 1751. Through it, the French 17th century became identified with Louis XIV of France , who reigned from 1643 to 1715.
Le buste de Louis XIV, présenté dans la niche centrale du salon de Diane. D'abord placé au Louvre le 13 octobre 1665, il est ensuite installé au rez-de-chaussée des Tuileries puis à l'automne 1684 le buste de Louis XIV est exposé à l'intérieur du grand Appartement du Roi du château de Versailles.

Charles-François Félix, le chirurgien ayant opéré Louis XIV en 1686. La fistule anale de Louis XIV est l'un des nombreux maux dont ce roi a souffert. Ce fut son chirurgien Charles-François Félix qui l'opéra avec succès en 1686 après la mise au point d'un instrument particulier et l'entraînement sur plusieurs dizaines d'indigents.
