William Butler Yeats. (Dublín, 1865 - Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Francia, 1939) Poeta y dramaturgo irlandés. Creador del estilo celta crepuscular, fue sin duda el máximo representante del renacimiento de la literatura irlandesa moderna, y uno de los autores más destacados del siglo XX. Recibió el Premio Nobel de literatura en 1923.

En 2010 et 2011, le groupe The Waterboys adapte plusieurs poèmes de Yeats et les présente dans un spectacle intitulé An appointment with Mr Yeats présenté en Irlande et en Angleterre.

His father, John Butler Yeats, was educated as an attorney but abandoned the law to become a well-known portrait painter. It was his father’s career as an artist that took the family to London for four years during Yeats’ boyhood.
